About
Hi, I’m Ifeanyi Esimai, a physician-turned-medical writer, who’s taken the scenic route to medical writing. From clinical practice and research, through a decade-plus in fiction publishing, and now into regulatory medical writing.
After my clinical training, I worked as a clinician, then a research associate, where I first encountered the intersection of science and writing. Later, I spent over ten years as a published fiction author — learning storytelling, structure, and how to write for humans, not just experts.
Now I bring those skills full circle into regulatory medical writing. My medical background ensures scientific accuracy. My writing career ensures clarity and engagement. Together, they help me craft documents that are both compliant and compelling.
I launched TheWriterMD.com to help other physicians see what I’ve discovered: you already have the core skills for medical writing. The real challenge is learning how to reposition and communicate them effectively.
This blog is for clinicians looking to transition — not into something lesser, but into something that fully leverages who they already are. If you're seeking more autonomy, purpose, or just a new chapter, you're in the right place.
